The 2008 NSW Tourism Awards Gala evening was held on Thursday 20 November 2008 at Star City Hotel and Casino.

 

Presented by Tourism NSW, in conjunction with Tourism Industry Council NSW (TICNSW), the Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner is the largest and most prestigious event on the NSW tourism calendar.

 

The NSW Tourism Awards celebrate and acknowledge tourism businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success throughout the year.

 

The Awards are held annually and are a submission and inspection-based competition.  The Awards ceremony provides the opportunity to publicly recognise and showcase the State's finest tourism operators.

 

The NSW Tourism Awards aim to:

  • encourage and celebrate creativity, professionalism and innovation
  • provide a benchmark for best practice within the tourism industry
  • promote business planning amongst NSW tourism operators
  • publicly recognise and reward excellence through an annual celebration
  • reinforce the value of the tourism industry
  • provide an opportunity for successful entrants to progress to the Australian Tourism Awards.
